Edwardian Home Extension With Glazed Passage And Skylights By Mulroy Architects

Making home additions does not have to be huge. Mulroy Architects proved that with a really simple idea. The architects added a beautiful glass passageway to this north London 3 storey home. Interior design modifications were also made, mainly through furnishings through Manea Kella local studio and oak joinery.

You can instantly understand why the project was a little tricky. The façade’s period character had to be respected. Modernizing the interior was done with minimalist furnishings. The kitchen area of this Edwardian home was fully opened with the glass extension. Natural light simply floods the entire area now.

A side wall was completely removed to add the brick cavity you see in the images. Everything was connected with glazing. Underfloor heating was included and the kitchen itself highly benefits from the oak dining table added, right under the brand new skylight.

In all the house’s 3 bedrooms there are sizeable windows. In the rear-facing bedroom we have French windows and a beautiful Juliette balcony that offers a garden view. The main bedroom has bay windows right towards the house front and street.
