The bathroom is usually the place in your house well you will find the most germs. This is why you should always keep it as clean as you can. You should implement some cleaning habits in order to keep your bathroom clean. Here are some frequently used places in your bathroom that you should keep an eye on when it comes to cleaning:
-
Shower
In order to clean the shower really well you should put some vinegar into a bag and keep the shower head submerged in it. Keep the shower head in the bag over night and remove it next morning. Simply run the water in order to eliminate the vinegar from the shower head. If you have a plastic shower head, you can clean it in your washing machine with some detergent and some towels.
If you want to clean the shower door, a good idea is to add a few tablespoons of white vinegar mixed with baking soda and apply the paste to the door. After applying it, just rub the door with a microfiber cloth and wash it.
-
Tile, Ceiling and Walls
Just take your all-purpose cleaner and spray everything in your bathroom with it. Turn the shower to hot water until steam starts building. After the steam starts forming, close the water and the door and let the steam mix with the cleaner for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes have passed, wipe everything down with a clean cloth.
You can also use the mop to wipe the tile floor. You should do this after you have finished the rest of the cleaning in your bathroom.
-
Toilet
First of all you will need to pour a cup of baking soda into the toilet. After that just brush and flush. If you are still seeing spots, use a damp pumice stone. You should clean your toilet brush after every use. It is really simple to clean it. All you have to do is to secure the brush handle between the seat and the bowl and pour some bleach on it and leave it for 5 minutes. After that just fill the brush canister with soapy water and clean it too. Throw the dirty water into the toilet.
You also have some alternatives on the market for the toilet brush. You can invest in a pressure washer that will help you in blasting hard-to-reach areas. When you flush always close the lid and don`t forget to use the vent fan.
-
Sink
Put some baking soda or vinegar down the drain and flush it with hot water. You can use some disinfecting wipes for the faucet which will reduce any bacteria. Usually the sink drain has the larger amount of bacteria in the bathroom. Other places where bacteria can usually be found are the faucet handles.
-
Hand towels
Replace your towels every three to four days. The towels will trap moisture and a lot of bacteria will start growing on them. You should spread the towels, rather than hanging them so the air can circulate.
