New Jersey is definitely not a state that is renowned for prefab homes but there are many lakeside houses that are quite interesting. This one is even more because it is prefab, created as a standard and then customized.
The premise of the building was really simple. The old home was not at all a great place to live in. Owners wanted to have a new home that was exactly the opposite. A lot of glass was used, right at the limit of what building codes allow. That perfectly complements the main purpose of this home: living in an outdoors environment, close to a lake. We have the outside area basically being a perfect extension of the indoor area.
This house has many different advantages but the one that is quite obvious is the presence of an open plan interior that makes everything seem so much larger. Natural light is at home.
